- Description
Module 5: Data, Fractions & Mathematical Thinking develops students’ ability to organize information, understand parts of a whole, and use reasoning to solve mathematical problems. In this module, Grade 1 students explore how data helps us answer questions and how fractions help us describe equal parts.
Students will learn how to collect information, organize data, and interpret picture graphs and bar graphs. They will practice comparing data sets, asking questions, and explaining conclusions based on information.
Students will also be introduced to foundational fraction concepts by exploring equal parts, halves, and fourths. Through sharing activities and real-world examples, learners will understand that fractions represent parts of a whole.
This module strengthens mathematical thinking by encouraging students to analyze information, explain their ideas, and apply strategies to solve problems.
