Grade Level: Grade 9
Duration: 5 Weeks
Focus: Solving and modeling relationships
Module 2: Linear Equations & Inequalities develops students’ ability to solve, represent, and interpret algebraic relationships. Students build confidence with equations and inequalities by learning how variables represent unknown quantities and how mathematical relationships can be modeled and analyzed.
Throughout the module, students solve one-step, multi-step, and multi-variable equations, work with literal equations and formulas, and explore inequalities as mathematical representations of real-world situations. Students also investigate absolute value equations and inequalities while strengthening their ability to explain solutions and justify their reasoning.
By the end of this module, students will be able to solve linear equations and inequalities, represent real-world situations algebraically, and interpret solutions within meaningful contexts.
