Module Title: Exponential, Radical & Rational Functions
Grade Level: Grade 11
Duration: 6 Weeks
Focus: Exploring advanced function families
Module 4: Exponential, Radical & Rational Functions expands students’ understanding of advanced function families by exploring relationships that model growth, change, and complex mathematical behaviors. Students investigate how exponential, radical, and rational functions differ from linear and quadratic models and learn how each function type can be used to represent real-world situations.
Throughout the module, students analyze exponential growth and decay, apply properties of exponents, simplify and solve radical expressions, and work with rational expressions and equations. Students develop strategies for selecting appropriate models and interpreting solutions within mathematical and real-world contexts.
By the end of this module, students will be able to compare exponential and linear models, simplify and solve radical expressions, solve rational equations, and apply advanced functions to real-world problems.
