Grade Level: Grade 11
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus: Understanding quadratic relationships
Module 3: Quadratic Functions & Equations develops students’ understanding of quadratic relationships and their applications. Students explore how quadratic functions create unique patterns, represented by parabolic graphs, and how different forms of quadratic equations reveal important information about their behavior.
Throughout the module, students analyze quadratic graphs, investigate key characteristics of parabolas, and work with multiple representations of quadratic functions, including vertex form and standard form. Students develop strategies for solving quadratic equations through factoring, completing the square, and the quadratic formula while exploring complex solutions.
By the end of this module, students will be able to analyze quadratic graphs, solve quadratic equations, compare quadratic representations, and use quadratic models to describe real-world situations.
