Grade Level: Grade 9
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus:
Developing mathematical reasoning and preparing students for advanced geometry. Students build proof skills by using definitions, properties, and theorems to justify conclusions, communicate logical arguments, and apply geometry concepts to real-world investigations.
Proof Foundations & Geometry Applications develops students’ logical reasoning and prepares them for advanced geometric thinking. Students learn how mathematicians use definitions, properties, theorems, and evidence to explain why geometric relationships are true.
Throughout the module, students explore the structure of geometric proofs, conditional reasoning, algebraic and coordinate proofs, and applications of geometric concepts in real-world contexts. Students use their knowledge of transformations, congruence, similarity, triangles, and circles to create arguments and solve complex problems.
