Grade Level: Grade 7
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus: Making decisions using data
Module 5: Probability, Statistics & Data Analysis develops students’ ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data while using probability to make informed predictions and decisions. Students investigate how data and chance are connected and how mathematical models help explain real-world events.
Throughout the module, students explore theoretical and experimental probability, calculate the probability of compound events, analyze statistical questions, and interpret measures of center and variability. They examine graphs and data displays, compare data sets, and apply statistical reasoning to solve meaningful problems in science, business, sports, and everyday life.
By the end of this module, students will confidently use probability and statistics to analyze information, make predictions, and support conclusions with mathematical evidence.
