Module 1: Proportional Relationships & Percent introduces students to the mathematical relationships between quantities and how they are used to solve real-world problems. Students build on their understanding of ratios and rates while developing a deeper understanding of proportional relationships, unit rates, and the constant of proportionality.

Throughout the module, students learn to identify proportional relationships using tables, graphs, equations, and real-world situations. They apply proportional reasoning to calculate percent increase, percent decrease, discounts, taxes, tips, and other everyday financial situations. Students strengthen their problem-solving skills by selecting efficient strategies and explaining their mathematical reasoning.

By the end of this module, students will confidently recognize proportional relationships, solve percent problems, and apply proportional reasoning in academic and real-life contexts.
