Module 3: Fractions & Decimals expands students’ understanding of numbers beyond whole numbers by introducing deeper fraction concepts and the connection between fractions and decimals. Students explore how fractions represent equal parts of a whole, how equivalent fractions show the same value, and how fractions can be compared, added, subtracted, and multiplied by whole numbers.

Throughout the module, students use visual models, number lines, and real-world examples to develop a strong conceptual understanding of fractions. They also explore decimals as another way to represent parts of a whole and learn to compare and order decimal values.

By connecting fractions and decimals to everyday situations such as money, measurement, and data, students develop flexible number sense and prepare for more advanced mathematical reasoning.
