Module 1: Place Value & Addition/Subtraction introduces Grade 3 students to larger numbers and more advanced computation skills. Students develop a strong understanding of numbers up to 100,000, explore place value relationships, and use this knowledge to compare, order, round, add, and subtract numbers with confidence.

Throughout the module, students investigate how the value of a digit changes depending on its position and use place value to solve increasingly complex mathematical problems. They learn multiple addition and subtraction strategies, estimate answers through rounding, and apply computation skills to real-world situations.

By strengthening number sense and computational fluency, students build the foundation needed for multiplication, division, fractions, and higher-level mathematics.
