Grade Level: Grade 10
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus:
Exploring nonlinear relationships and quadratic patterns. Students develop skills in analyzing parabolas, understanding quadratic features, solving basic quadratic equations, and applying quadratic models to real-world situations.
Quadratic Relationships & Applications introduces students to nonlinear relationships and the characteristics of quadratic functions. Students explore how quadratic equations represent patterns involving change, analyze the structure of parabolic graphs, and apply algebraic methods to solve quadratic problems.
Throughout the module, students investigate the features of quadratic functions, including vertices, axes of symmetry, and factoring foundations. Students develop an understanding of how quadratic models describe real-world situations involving motion, design, optimization, and patterns.
