Grade Level: Grade 10
Duration: 5 Weeks
Focus:
Building foundational skills with variables, expressions, and algebraic thinking. Students develop algebraic reasoning by identifying components of expressions, applying operation properties, simplifying expressions, and representing real-world situations mathematically.
Expressions & Algebraic Reasoning builds the foundational skills students need for success in Algebra I and advanced mathematics. Students develop an understanding of variables, constants, algebraic vocabulary, and the structure of mathematical expressions.
Throughout the module, students learn how to translate real-world situations into algebraic expressions, evaluate expressions using substitution, and simplify expressions using properties of operations. These skills establish the foundation for solving equations, analyzing functions, and modeling real-world relationships.
