Grade Level: Grade 9
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus:
Understanding circular relationships and measurement. Students develop the ability to identify parts of circles, calculate measurements, analyze geometric relationships, apply formulas, and solve real-world problems involving circles and composite figures.
Circles & Geometric Measurement develops students’ understanding of circular relationships, properties, and measurement concepts. Students explore the parts of circles, including radius, diameter, chords, arcs, and angles, while learning how geometric formulas describe circular measurements.
Throughout the module, students calculate circumference and area, analyze relationships between circle components, and apply circle concepts to composite figures and real-world situations. Students strengthen their problem-solving skills by connecting visual models, formulas, and mathematical reasoning.
