Grade Level: Grade 9
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus:
Understanding when figures are congruent and developing foundations for geometric reasoning. Students learn to identify congruent relationships, apply transformations and triangle congruence concepts, compare geometric figures, and communicate conclusions using logical mathematical arguments.
Congruence & Geometric Reasoning develops students’ understanding of when geometric figures are identical in size and shape. Students explore congruent figures, triangle congruence relationships, and transformation-based reasoning while building foundational skills for geometric proofs and logical arguments.
Throughout the module, students analyze figures using geometric properties, apply triangle congruence criteria, and use evidence to justify conclusions. Students begin developing the reasoning skills needed to explain mathematical relationships and construct formal geometric arguments.
