Grade Level: Grade 8
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus: Interpreting information and making predictions
Module 5: Data Analysis, Probability & Problem Solving develops students’ ability to collect, interpret, and analyze information to make informed mathematical decisions. Students explore how data can reveal patterns, relationships, and trends through statistical questions, data displays, scatter plots, and two-way tables.
Throughout the module, students investigate probability models, compare experimental and theoretical probability, and use data evidence to make predictions and draw conclusions. Through real-world investigations, students strengthen their ability to analyze information, recognize relationships, and communicate mathematical reasoning.
By the end of this module, students will confidently interpret data, analyze relationships, calculate probabilities, and apply evidence-based reasoning to solve real-world problems.
