Grade Level: Grade 7
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus: Building algebra skills
Module 3: Expressions, Equations & Inequalities introduces students to the language of algebra by developing their ability to represent, simplify, and solve mathematical relationships using variables and symbols. Students learn how algebra provides a powerful way to describe patterns, model real-world situations, and solve unknown values.
Throughout the module, students write algebraic expressions, combine like terms, apply the properties of operations, simplify equivalent expressions, and solve one-step and two-step equations. Students also explore inequalities, interpret solution sets, and write equations to model real-life situations. By applying algebraic reasoning to increasingly complex problems, students strengthen their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
By the end of this module, students will confidently use algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities to represent mathematical relationships and solve real-world problems.
