Grade Level: Grade 3
Duration: 7 Weeks
Focus: Understanding parts, wholes, and patterns
Module 3: Fractions & Number Relationships introduces Grade 3 students to fractions as numbers that represent equal parts of a whole and points on a number line. Students develop a strong understanding of fractional concepts by exploring unit fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and applying fractions in everyday situations.
Throughout the module, students also investigate number patterns and relationships between mathematical operations. They discover how addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are connected and use these relationships to solve increasingly challenging problems.
By combining fraction concepts with mathematical reasoning and pattern recognition, students strengthen their problem-solving abilities and prepare for more advanced work with fractions and algebraic thinking in later grades.
