Module 1: Place Value & Addition/Subtraction Foundations introduces Grade 2 students to essential number concepts and computation skills needed for mathematical success. This module strengthens students’ understanding of numbers through 1,000 while building confidence with addition and subtraction strategies.

Students will explore how hundreds, tens, and ones work together to create numbers. They will learn to read, write, compare, and order three-digit numbers while developing a deeper understanding of place value relationships.

Students will also strengthen computation skills by solving addition and subtraction problems within 1,000. They will learn strategies for regrouping, checking answers, and solving multi-step problems connected to real-world situations.

Through models, equations, and problem-solving activities, students will develop accuracy, flexibility, and confidence as mathematicians.
